David is experienced at Board and executive level, with strong financial and management skills. He has a good blend between operational and strategic goal setting and the management of people and growing businesses. David was the Group CFO of the RAA from from 2008 to 2016. The RAA is South Australia’s peak motoring and personal insurance body representing the interests of 650,000 motorists and 440,000 Insurance policy holders with a turnover of $400m.
David has a Bachelor of Economics and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors.
Previous roles included director of Australian Club Consortium Pty Ltd and ACC-CAD Pty Ltd, member of Australian Automobile Association Audit Risk and Compliance Committee. David joined the Prince Alfred College Council in 2016 and is a member of Finance and Audit, Boarding House and Royal Coach Hotel Committees.
David is the founding director of mcg horizon, a business advisory firm “building better businesses” with a hands on personalised approach. Prior to this David was Chief Financial Officer of Somark Group, a data technology company providing products and services to the medical research industry in Australia, USA and Europe.
David commenced his career with PWC in Audit and Business Services and then took up an opportunity in Corporate Recovery and Business Advisory, providing consulting and advisory work to individuals, corporations and financiers.
David’s career has included senior executive roles with a multinational advertising agency, a fast growing entrepreneurial media company, a financial services company and more recently the RAA and a Lifesciences business. This experience has provided David with the necessary skills to adapt swiftly to new and challenging environments and taken him from the boardrooms of public companies to the factory floor in a variety of businesses.
David recently joined EduCo International as Chief Financial Officer after providing consulting services to Cambridge International College in Melbourne during 2019.
